Geometric Friends Installation is inspired by similarities of Islamic patterns and St Johns Church stained glass window designs and marks a culmination of creative work done over 12 months.
This is an Urban Church funded project I have entitled ‘Geometric Friends’ which I have offered free local workshops for the local community to meet, create opportunities and participate in a visual art project that encourages shared experiences and create Islamic patterns. It’s great to see people who wouldn’t describe themselves as ‘creative’ to come along and create something that they’re proud of, and is representative of the language of geometry I create.
It is awesome to see many diverse groups of people coming together to relax, colour, chat and laugh in a creative and happy environment that I have organized. The series of art workshops go beyond what is created…its sowing the seed of conversations, friendships and mutual respect and understanding which are invaluable a climate of world conflict and chaos….
